Abner Kneeland Brush letter, circa 1845-1848.

This undated letter, circa 1845-1848, addressed to C. R. Wright in West Milton, VT, discusses how Brush came to his decision to attend Norwich University and the improvement in his health. He also writes about his course of study and his satisfaction with the faculty.

Abner Brush was born in Jeffersonville (Cambridge), VT, and died in Antiago, WI. He entered Norwich University from Monkton in 1844 and remained nearly three years. Brush studied law and practiced his profession in Wisconsin. He served as drafting officer at Omro, WI, during the Civil War. He married first in 1851 Caroline Eno (d. 1853) of New Haven, VT, and the couple had one son who died in infancy.
